Turkey was my first holiday with a friend, we found a £200 all inclusive package on teletext and just decided to go for it. We were staying just outside Bodrum, which was nice as it was much quieter.

We booked a couple of excursions through Margaret Tours to places like Dalayan, Milas market and to mud baths, which were all nice and cheap.

My first thing to try in Turkey was a Turkish bath, which I have to say was not relaxing! It hurt and throwing cold water over me did not cheer me up! Despite this I was told if you do it at the start of your holiday you tan better and it stays longer, which it did!

The next day we went to the aqua park which was so much fun. There was lots of places to relax and sunbathe as well as eat and drink, I will always remember this place as the place I first discovered waffles with Nutella and bananas!

The boat tour to the mud baths was so relaxing, with lots to see along the way. However the mud baths were so touristy it was a little annoying, but I guess it was to be expected.

The next few days we spent hanging around Bodrum harbour itself, which was beautiful, we also went to the castle and local markets here. Bodrum is well known as a bit of a party place at night, but during the day it was much more tolerable.

One night we went to an mazing pizza bar, and were advised to go to ‘Halikarnas’ apparently the best night club in the world. But in true style, no one knew where it was and the locals took us to ‘Hadigari’ nightclub, which was apparently just as good. Well, there were perhaps 8 of us in this outside nightclub with 4 of those having a sit down meal at the top! Despite this, a great time was had, and the sparklers they handed out really helped!

Overall, it was a great holiday. The only poor point was the food at the hotel- but at £200 all inclusive what can you expect? We just ended up eating out most nights or finding some local supermarkets!
